The Dawn was the first schooner ever to sail the seas of Safehold.
Converted from one of the coasters typically found in Howell Bay, the ship was relatively shoal-hulled and broad-beamed. Merlin Athrawes and Dustyn Olyvyr, who was the official designer of the vessel, added leeboards to give it better hydrodynamics. (OAR)
