Irys Zhorzhet Mhara Aplyn-Ahrmahk (née Daykyn), Duchess of Darcos, was the first child and only daughter of Prince Hektor of Corisande.

Background[]
Irys was the firstborn child of Prince Hektor Daykyn and his wife, Princess Raichynda Daykyn. She was born in November 876. Her mother died when Irys was still a young girl.
She and Daivyn were evacuated to the Kingdom of Delferahk shortly before the Siege of Manchyr. Lord Phylyp Ahzgood, Earl of Coris, was sent along as their protector and legal guardian. Once at the Royal Court at Talkyra, they learned that their father and their older brother, Hektor the Younger, had been murdered, presumably on the orders of Emperor Cayleb. However, over the next years, the princess and Earl Coris began to doubt the Temple's version of the events, doubts that were eventually confirmed by a "triple agent" assigned by Irys's father decades earlier. When they learned that Grand Inquisitor Zhaspahr Clyntahn had plans to kill the exiled Daykyns as well, they made contact with Seijin Merlin, who got them and Earl Coris out of Delferahk and put them on a ship back to Charis. In the Year of God 896, Irys was betrothed to Hektor Aplyn-Ahrmahk, Duke of Darcos and adoptive son of Emperor Cayleb, to seal the bond between the houses of Ahrmahk and Daykyn. (MTAT)
They then returned to Corisande, where on the 24th of October of that same year, two days after Prince Daivyn's coronation, Hektor and Irys were married in Manchyr Cathedral. However, when they left the church, a "Rakurai" suicide bomber blew herself up in the crowd they were passing. Hektor shielded his new wife from the explosion and was mortally injured. Shortly thereafter, as her husband lay dying, Archbishop Maikel Staynair and Merlin Athrawes arrived and revealed the truth about humanity's history and the inner circle to her and Hektor, who was quickly saved by Merlin's advanced medical technology. They then maintained the fiction that she nursed him back to health. This also meant they had to spend a lot of time alone in their bedroom, so that by the time Empress Sharleyan arrived in Corisande, Irys was already pregnant with twins. She later gave birth to their first children, Prince Hektor Merlin Haarahld Aplyn-Ahrmahk and Princess Raichynda Sharleyan Nimue Aplyn-Ahrmahk. (AST)
